What's New in the 2025 Tesla Model S?

The Tesla Model S is a fully electric, 5-door sedan produced by the American automaker Tesla. First introduced in 2012, the Model S remains in its first generation to this day. However, over the past eight years, the electric vehicle has undergone numerous mid-cycle updates.

The 2025 Tesla Model S features one notable change: a new key card that replaces the standard car-shaped key fob used previously. Given Tesla's reputation for continuously refining its vehicles over the years, this minor update signals that more significant changes for the Model S are on the horizon—most likely arriving in 2025.

Exterior

In our opinion, the design of the early Tesla models was not particularly impressive—if not downright boring.

2025 Tesla Model S Interior

Inside the cabin, the 2025 Tesla Model S remains unchanged compared to the 2022 model.

The cockpit features power-adjustable, heated dark leather seats with a body-hugging design and exquisite stitching.

The interior of the 2025 Tesla Model S Plaid features a prominent 17-inch central infotainment screen, a tri-zone automatic climate control system, HEPA air filtration, interior ambient lighting, and a tinted glass sunroof capable of blocking ultraviolet rays.

2025 Tesla Model S Performance

The 2025 Tesla Model S is available in two versions: the S AWD and the S Plaid AWD. The S AWD version features an output of 670 hp and a driving range of 405 miles (671 km).

The 2025 Tesla Model S Plaid boasts a power output of up to 1,020 horsepower and offers a driving range of 628 km on a single full charge. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.1 seconds.

**Range, Charging, and Battery Life**

Integrated beneath the Tesla's floor is a battery pack that provides a low center of gravity and ensures even weight distribution between the front and rear axles. Driving range varies across the different models; the Long Range model offers up to 405 miles per charge, while the Plaid model trails closely behind at 359 miles. The Lucid Air is the only EV sedan currently offering a greater driving range per charge, with its high-end models estimated to deliver up to 516 miles.

**Safety Features**

A comprehensive safety evaluation for the Tesla Model S has not yet been released; therefore, we currently refer to ratings from the NHTSA or IIHS. The list of standard safety features includes forward collision avoidance with automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alerts. These features complement the standard ABS, EBD, and mandatory rearview camera systems. In total, the various models are equipped with eight airbags. Additionally, Tesla heavily promotes its adaptive cruise control system—dubbed "Autopilot"—though, in our opinion, it should not be relied upon excessively.

- Standard automatic emergency braking

- Standard lane-departure warning

- Adaptive cruise control system available with hands-free driving mode

**Giaxeoto.vn's Preliminary Rating for the Tesla Model S (4.5/5)**

While Tesla has shifted its focus to flashy new products such as the Cybertruck, the 2025 Model S continues to serve as the brand's flagship luxury vehicle. Its estimated maximum range of 671 km per charge is more than sufficient for a vast country like the United States. Impressive performance and the agility of a sports sedan combine to deliver an exhilarating driving experience. However, several competitors are encroaching on Tesla's territory—including the Lucid Air—offering greater driving range, comparable performance, and a more premium cabin experience. Tesla's reputation remains virtually unrivaled, as does the brand's extensive network of fast-charging Supercharger stations. These factors—combined with the vehicle's high-tech features and impressive estimated driving range—help the Model S maintain a competitive edge over its rivals.
